The Scheme of Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central School) was approved in November, 1962 by the Government of India on the recommendations of the Second Central Pay Commission. It recommends that Government should develop a scheme to provide uninterrupted education to the wards of transferable Central Government Employees. Consequently, Central School Organization was started as a unit of Ministry of Education, the Government of India. Initially 20 Regimental Schools, then functioning at places having large concentration of defence personnel were taken over as Central Schools during the Academic Year- 1963-64.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) on 15th December 1965. The primary aim of the Sangathan is to provide, establish, endow, maintain, control and manage the Central Schools (Kendriya Vidyalayas) located over India and abroad. The Government of India wholly finances the Sangathan. It runs approximately 1240 Kendriya Vidyalayas including three abroad, five Zonal Institutes of Education and Training and twenty-five Regional Offices spread across the country.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shivgarh, Raebareli is one of the Kendriya Vidyalayas run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi under Civil Sector which is fully financed by Government of India. It was started in the session 2013-14. Presently, it is running in the permanent building. The vidyalaya comes under Raebareli Loksabha Constituency. The vidyalaya is fully equipped with all necessary modern physical and scientific devices like LCD Projectors, audio & visual aids and all essential infrastructural developments which play a vital role in educating the children and making education a fun to learn. The vidyalaya has the sanctioned strength of 682 students with 02 sections in each class from classes I to V and single section from classes VI to XII. One section is being sanctioned every year to make it a double section school from classes I to XII. Presently, there are 682 students and 28 teachers, well trained, experienced, dedicated and capable of fulfilling the demands of the growing modern generation of students.
